Their large size makes them suitable for bigger reptiles and reduces the number needed per feeding. They are active movers, triggering feeding responses. More moisture than mealworms. Storage & Keeping

Storage TipsKeep at room temperature (22-28°C) in bran or oats with sliced vegetables for moisture. Do NOT refrigerate — cold kills them. They will keep for several weeks at room temperature. Isolate individuals to trigger pupation if breeding.

Limitations

Things to ConsiderVery similar nutritional problems to mealworms but worse in some areas: extremely high fat (38% DM), a terrible Ca:P ratio (1:20 — the worst of any common feeder), and high chitin from their tough exoskeleton. Their mandibles can bite, so avoid feeding to small or juvenile reptiles. Treat only, never a staple.
